What Are Friends For

“……. and I used to go to Chuck E. Cheese with him, but no more. My mother-in-law wants to take him, so, as far as I’m concerned, good riddance. It’s so noisy there, I just can’t think. I always hated it there anyway, but his grandmother just loves that stuff. So it all works out for me.”

“Oh, I know. It’s always a pain, getting the kids together for that place. I have a party that I have to go to there next week, and I’m really dreading it. And they always bother me to go there, but I just really had to put my foot down on it. Only special occasions, you know like this party with Kaylee…..”

“Kaylee? Kaylee is having a party?”

“You didn’t know?”

“No….”

“Oh, yes it’s like only for a few people. You know how Myra is, all private and exclusive she is. A real snot, but Merissa and Dakota really love Kaylee, you know? I can’t deny them, but you know how it is.”

“I guess.”

“Myra is a real B, if you know what I-.”

“Well, I have to go, I think. It’s almost time to get Gerry from daycare.”

“Same time next week?”

“No, I’m going to Nancy’s for lunch?”

“Nancy? She invited you?”

“Mm-hmm. So, maybe after the party I’ll text you?”

“Or maybe I’ll text you.”

“Well, lovely seeing you as always.”

“You too! I’m so glad we’re friends.”
