October 2006 - Photo of the Month II
"On Patrol" I saw this Salamander on his daily patrol and took a photo. A Salamander is part of a group of amphibians, the range from 6" to 3' head to tail. It is known that they need moisture for survival, some are even completly aquatic. This one is terrestrial and tries to live in moist areas, like damp rotting logs. Salamaders have no voice and are secretive.
