August 2006 - Photo of the Month II
I ran into this bee having lunch, so I set up my camera trying not to interrupt his lunch hour. I believe the bee is known as an American Hover Fly, which is common throughout North America. From what I have read, the adults drink nectar and the larva eats aphids and larvae of insects. The adults are active during June-August.
